Design Approach

BCA’s pragmatic design and development approach ensures that all of our work output meets the highest quality standards. The development approach we follow includes some flexibility depending on the requirements imposed by the customer. It is our experience that conforming to our development practice is beneficial even for those projects for which a strict process is not mandated by a governing body.

A number of our current customers have experienced problems when working with other contract design firms that do not have this level of discipline. We arrived at a practical methodology because we have observed large companies blindly create documentation that will never be used as well as small companies who have no procedures in place at all. Our standard procedures obviously include our design methods but they also include our business practices and how we work with customers as well.

This review-based practice, from requirements definition, through design, to formalized testing, means that our designs meet our clients’ needs and they are reliable. These reviews by other competent and experienced engineers on our staff are key to successful designs. We also hold "postmortem" reviews of our projects and use the lessons learned to update our process.
