A Little Fun, A Lot of Progress
Providence, RI - September 22, 2008
Rhode Island's Science & Technology Advisory Council (STAC) was named an Innovation Champion for promoting innovation and research in the state. BCA has been a key player for two of STAC's grant recipients.
The Providence Business News writes that ”over the past three years the council has nurtured entrepreneurship, encouraged the birth and growth of new companies, helped schools and hospitals win federal grants and studied ways to make the University of Rhode Island a nationally competitive research institution.“
To qualify for a grant, STAC requires that a company be considered an ”innovation industry.“ Two of BCA's Rhode Island customers Bionic Corp. and Rehab Toys, fit this requirement perfectly.
For BCA, this is exactly where fun and progress come together.
Bionica Corp. is developing the next generation hearing aid that allows the wearer to fine tune their listening experience to their surroundings.
The Rehab Toys collaboration designs rehabilitative toys for children with cerebral palsey.
