Bay Computer Associates' electronics
at the heart of Palm's Top Award
Providence,
RI - Palm Inc. has honored the ActiveECG
cardiac monitor with "Best Overall" as part of their
first-ever Powered Up Awards. The ActiveECG uses custom
electronics connected to a Palm handheld to sense and record
cardiac rhythms. Bay Computer Associates of Providence RI,
designed the electronics for the ActiveECG.

Durfee, President of BCA, said, "Our design group loves
challenging projects and it's wonderful to get recognition for
a job well done. Many of our designs are commercial, so they
are essentially hidden from the public's view. We're proud to
have designed a product that is getting so much visibility."
This monitor is the first FDA-approved product for
Palm Powered devices. What makes this product unique is its
size and price. The device fits into your pocket and sells for
under $500. Doctors, nurses, EMTs, or individual patients can
use this device anywhere.
Active Corporation, located
in Castine, Maine, produces the ActiveECG. Jeffrey Siegel,
President of Active Corporation, has high praises for the
electronics designed by BCA. "I came across 50 companies on
the Internet when I was looking for electronics design
assistance for the ActiveECG. As I narrowed down the field,
