Web Applications

Web applications are programs that run on web servers over the Internet that you interact with through your PC or Macintosh browser. Like PC or Macintosh programs, these applications produce screens which display data from a database or, for example, an accounting system. A typical use of a web application could be to sell products or services via the Internet. Web applications are fundamentally different from static websites which don’t change very often and which display the same information no matter who is requesting it.

Many people today are not satisfied with their present web application. We hear statements like, “It doesn’t integrate with our accounting system.” Or, “why must I re-enter this data twice?” Or, “We tried to update our system but when we went live, our business came to a screeching halt for several days.”

At BCA we take an approach that looks at and acts on the whole system, not just the web portion. Our experience with standard business applications allows us to create web solutions that solve your business problems. We have experience integrating web applications with back office accounting systems and other database applications. We have visual expertise in creating pleasant and consistent user interfaces that lead the user through her experience. During development, we use a self-contained staging area to thoroughly test the application in the Internet environment so that when the switch flips from old system to new, there are no surprises.
