Two RI Companies Combine Talents to Save Lives
January 2010. Rhode Island - Bio-Detek and Bay Computer Associates, have announced the release of their CPR iPhone application that could save lives. The product is an aid for training and executing CPR. The iPhone is held unto the chest of the victim during CPR and the system provides audio and visual cues as to the recommended depth and frequency of CPR compressions. Using proper CPR technique is clearly a factor in the potential for life saving. The application provides an inexpensive and accessible method of instruction in CPR and will be available from the iPhone "App Store" in Q1 2010.
Bay Computer Associates, Inc. is a contract electronics and software design team located in Cranston that has been designing high technology products in Rhode Island business for 20 years. Bio-Detek is a Pawtucket based manufacturer of medical electrodes and the "pocketCPR". BIO-DETEK provides custom design, manufacturing, and test solutions and is dedicated to the design and manufacture of sensors for the medical device community.
