Trucking Permit Distribution for Oversize Loads

Description

Problem

Client wants to automate the process of obtaining permits for the trucking business. This web application would allow a trucking company to select a trip they were to embark on, by entering the information about the trip; mainly: truck type, axile information, trailor information, expected trip routes to take, etc. With all this information, the web application would automatically make permit applications to the various state authorities to retrive this necessary permits for travel. Permits are distributed by email to the truck companies.

Solution

This web application contains a database holding truck company information. The easy to use interface was devloped by interviewing truckers who needed this service. Our plan included a small web application which would capture the names and email addresses of perspective clients as we developed the application. Once the site was ready for Alpha testing, we let these individuals use the site, thus developing a Beta test with real users.

The application was developed using the .net enviroment using MS SQL for database support.
