Web Application - Scientific Chemical Sales

Redesigned a dynamic ecommerce website with integration to back-office accounting system.

Description

Problem

The company asked BCA to upgrade its ecommerce web application, while allowing their graphic designer to develop the look and feel of the site. Included in this upgrade was integrating the web ordering system into their existing accounting system to eliminate double entry. This client also had a separate accounting package to handle it's picking and procurement which also needed to be integrated into this system. Since the client was already using the web for it's order entry, the client needed to be switched over from their old system to their new system without interruption of service.

Solution

BCA worked with the client to produce a specification of the requirements for the feature set, visual concept, technologies, content management, security, data input and output, user interface, links, hosting, and search engine placement.

BCA implemented the changes to the company's web application. The website maintains its own SQL database and also nightly synchronizes the data between its database and the company's FoxPro databases used in their accounting and procurement systems.
